Synopsis
Pluto est l’indissociable chien de Mickey Mouse. Malicieux, souvent affamé mais tellement gentil et affectueux, il vit d'amusantes aventures et est devenu, avec le temps, l'un des personnages emblématiques de Walt Disney.
S'il reste un gentil toutou, il sera aussi parfois "l'ennemi" de Donald Duck ou de Tic et Tac, mais toujours dans le but d'offrir de savoureux gags et faire rire !

Commentaires
Pluto est né de l'envie de Walt Disney d'offrir au personnage de Mickey un animal domestique. Le personnage se cherche un peu au début, et s'appelera tout d'abord "Rover" lorsqu'il apparait en 1930 dans le cartoon "the Chain Gang", puis "Tom" (le chien de Minnie !) dans "The picnic" la même année, avant de vraiment trouver ses marques et devenir le compagnon de Mickey que l'on connait.
Pluto adopte finalement son nom définitif en 1930 lorsque la planète Pluton est découverte, en référence à celle-ci. Il aura rapidement son propre cartoon dédié, même s'il restera un personnage invité secondaire dans un nombre incroyable de cartoons Mickey, Donald, Dingo ou autre star Disney. Sur ses 109 apparitions "classiques", on note 48 cartoons portant son nom et centrés sur lui.
Pluto se différencie vite, dans son caractère et son approche, d'un chien comme Dingo. Si ce dernier a un comportement humain, Pluto, lui, reste définitivement un animal (il ne parle pas, marche à quatre pattes...) et séduit le jeune public attendri. Notre toutou se verra même papa, avec Pluto Junior en 1942 et nous découvrirons son frère, K.B., en 1946...
